A special form of artistic and mathematical system, game works on the plane
- Recommended for children and adults, both alone and in teams.
- Without any limitation the game may be used by healthy young people or people with disabilities.
- It arouses desire to discover, and offers a continuous success experience.
- It provides Indirect learning opportunities because you find out (create for yourself) all the tasks.
- It teaches by playing! It teaches you to see!
It develops these abilities
- Sight and touch, Form and color senses;
- Abstractive vision, Art sensitivity;
- Complex logical thinking, Mathematical and combination skills;
- Attention and concentration, Visual memory;
- Skill and courage, Openness and team spirit.
Rules of the game
- Base structure elements
- Laying the basic elements
- Interfaces, connection points
- Recommended creative methods
1. The basic construction elements
Poly-universe square consists of a large base form and three smaller ones: there are large, medium, small triangles to connect. Each of the triangles is attached to a color: red, blue, yellow, green. Due to the four color combinations a total of 24 different basic elements are available in the game package.
2. Laying the basic elements
The basic elements may be placed in the basic position and reversed (mirror reflection-vertical axis reflection) position, you may arbitrarily rotate them in the plane in any way.
3. Connection points
3.1. The basic elements may be laid by total side connection, in this case the angles of the basic elements connect.
3.2. The basic elements may be slid along the sides, in this case the smaller triangles? angles are linked to each other.
3.3. Finally, we can work on the plane by joining the basic elements? pinnacles
4. The rules
The game rules are based on finding the relationships between smaller squares located the peaks and the colors (identity or difference). Thus, 6 rules can be distinguished, as follows:
A. Find the small squares of the same size and connect them
B. Find the small squares of the same color and connect them
C. Find the small squares of the same size and color and connect them
D. Find the small squares of different size but the same color and connect them
E. Find the small squares of the same size but different color and connect them
F. Find the small squares of different size and different color and connect them
5. Recommended creative methods
The inventor offers the possibilities of different creative methods for learning. You can create a closed (i.e., regular and solid) shapes or open (i.e., irregular, or even a regular but not solid) shapes as well. You may lay the shapes along the connection points by total side contact, sliding, or joining the basic elements? vertices in the following ways:
5.1 The aim is to create closed shapes: first time with the fewest basic elements possible, and then gradually with the use of all 24 basic elements. You can start it based on the following examples. The rules should be applied separately if possible:
5.2 The aim is to create an open shape. First, using an arbitrary number of elements, and then using all the 24 base elements. You can start it based on the following examples. The rules should be applied separately if possible:
5.3 The aim is to create open shapes by sliding the basic elements. First using any number of elements, and then using all 24 basic elements. You can start it based on the following examples. The rules should be applied separately if possible:
Regardless of whether you use open or closed creative methods, during the game our goal should be to create as many regular shapes as possible using the combination of all basic elements . It is inherent in the game Poly-Universe that the virtually unlimited aesthetic and mathematical possibilities will shown up by the application of all scale and color combinations. Step by step you can get to the creation and then to the solutions of top tasks ? Poly-Universe?s beauty and harmony really opens up before us through the game.
This is a fantastic challenge for kids and adults alike!
